"""In its unique, far-reaching way, LILO and STITCH -- and Disney -- will help to perpetuate Hawaiian ways, beingness, and arts, as well as our one-of-a-kind local culture. I loved the snippets of pidgin, for most of us, our first language. Tia Carrere and Jason Scott Lee were perfect in their voice roles as Nani and Kawika (David). For a change, true locals playing local roles with every truthful and subtle nuance.

Loving Hawaiian music as I do, I am particularly grateful for the inclusion of authentic Hawaiian musicianry: the mesmerizing, lively chants by real-life Hawaiian chanter, Mark Keali`i Ho`omalu, were right-on. The casting of real-life kumu hula (hula master)Kunewa Mook as the voice of the hula teacher in the movie was exactly pono (right and proper); his input on depicting hulas as it is actually danced, and not the swishy hula gibberish of past Hollywood movies was greatly appreciated by us, his peers.""
The four personalities of the Rising Star, Has-Been, Bum, and Level-headed Average Guy balance out the cast and provide a character for everyone to enjoy or relate to. Their friendship and their dependence on each other make the characters a success, as well as a success in the world of the show.

Jeremy Piven's role as agent to rising star, Vincent Chase, is thoroughly entertaining as well as aggravating. He's not quite the villain, but the perfect embodiment of the guy you don't want working against you. His quick one-liners and perfect delivery make it a joy to watch the show, whereas a real-life encounter with a guy such as him would probably make you want to deck him. """

Ah, finally something completely different on the tube! Dexter is dark, strangely gripping and unlike anything I've ever seen on television. When was the last time you found yourself rooting for a murderer? Dexter Morgan is easily one of the most disturbing character's I've seen in a long time, yet I find myself anxiously waiting to see what he'll do next. His job by day is to help get the bad guys, yet I root for him to really get the bad guys at night when he delivers his own brand of vigilante justice. Will this guy ever get caught? How deep does his disturbing psyche go? What happened to him before he went to the foster home? Will he ever have a functional relationship with a woman? I for one cannot wait to see how this brilliant series will play out over the next few years. And make no mistake about it -- I believe this series will be around for a long time to come.
A show we grew to love for its lighter moments and terrific character development has too often subjected us to ghost sex, afterlife visits and over-the-top ratings gimmicks.
When we saw the leaked intro clip earlier in the week, we thought Shonda Rhimes was going there again - trying to be all profound, but really just throwing stuff at the wall.
While we do think the Grey's Anatomy spoilers were overkill - imagine had we not known the identity of the shooter, or that Meredith was pregnant! - last night compelling.
If nothing else, with five major characters getting shot over two hours, Shonda went all in. This was an emotional, well-paced episode, as well as edge-of your-seat intense.
deeply touching, quite ridiculous and, in its very last seconds, so infuriating I erupted like the Smoke Beast and
Touching and ridiculous I was expecting: Lost has always been so far out on the edge — and so courageous about it — that the final revelations of Oceanic Flight 815 would have risen either like a phoenix or a magician’s pigeon forcibly flung out over the audience. But this …
Actually, the episode started on a terrific note, seizing on what always felt like the show’s true emotional core: the unresolved relationship between Dr. Jack Shepherd (Matthew Fox) and his dead father. At the start of the two-and-a-half hour episode, the arrival of the father’s casket back in Los Angeles and the rather jokey detail that his name was the symbolically fraught “Christian Shepherd” suggested that we were about to begin a requiem — not only old Doc Shepherd’s but the show’s, and with it all the solemn connotations of life and death and rebirth and
DVD sales.Well, this will be lovely,” I thought, as I waited out the island showdown between Jack and John Locke (Terry O’Quinn). This aspect of season 6 has always been total hokum, especially since Locke’s bald metaphysical awfulness made him seem more and more like an America’s Got Talent contestant impersonating Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now. By the end, I still didn’t understand what harm Locke would have done if he ever left the island. Shoplift souls in the duty-free store at LAX? And why exactly did the island NEED protection?
